★背景★
先方のメーカーと新製品について、日本総代理店の本契約を控えています。

メーカーが新しい製品パッケージを開発中で、当初は、この新パッケージをメーカーが完成させてから、本契約に移る予定でした。

当初、12月に新パッケージが完成する見込みでしたが、かなり予定よりも遅れており、恐らく2月中旬～下旬にならないと完成しないとのこと。

一方で、この製品を来年日本で開催されるDesign Tokyo展に出展させたいと考えており、この出展審査が12月中から開始されるため、パッケージの完成を待たずに、契約だけ先に進めるのが良いものと考えています。

これを踏まえて、今回の依頼文の翻訳をお願い致します。

実は、来年7月に開催されるDesign Tokyo2014に、この爪切りを出展したいと考えてました。これは日本国内で最も重要な展示会の一つです。

この展示会には事前審査があり、今月からその審査が始まります。
展示会には日本総代理店として出展を申し込む必要があるため、貴方との本契約が必要です。

パッケージの完成が遅れているのなら、先に本契約は進めませんか？
僕はこの展示会へ絶対申し込むべきと考えています。

I see the completion of the new package seems to be delayed.
Actually, I wanted to show these nail clippers in Design Tokyo2014 to be held next July. This is one of the most important exhibitions in Japan.

And the exhibitors have to go through the preliminary review which starts this month. Because it is necessary for us to apply to participate in the exhibition as your Japanese sole agent, we should have the formal contract with you.

If the completion of the package is being delayed, can we proceed to execute the contract first?
I strongly believe that we should certainly apply for this exhibition.
