It is often said that Vincent van Gogh imitated Jean-Francois Millet, but how they use colors were extremely different from one another. To become a good painter surely required a talent, but possessing a variety of painting tools was also an essential factor, at the same time. Impressionists located in Paris gave their major influence by using rich color hues of dots and lines, but those rich colors were quite expensive at that time. One of the reason why Vincent van Gogh had to spend his days without enough money was because he poured most of the money which his art dealer and also a younger brother, Theo, sent him as a financial assistance, into painting tools rather than his own livelihood. His behavior indicates that you need someone to provide blank canvas, as well as your enthusiasm and inquisitive mind to find your unique colors in your life.
