件についてはの部分など、１字１句訳そうとはしなくても好いと思います。

as soon as there is progress
-> if there is any updates
progressはどちらかというとsomething betterな将来を指す進展という意味が強いかもしれません。ただ、この場合の進展は、あくまで話が進んだら結果はどうあれ知らせてもらわないといけないことだと思うので、単にupdateを使ってもいいかもしれません。
