私なら殆ど同じ単語を使っても、次の様に書きますが・・・、

The jar and its lid cannot be tightly sealed.
There is a gap between them and makes clatter noise.

でも全然、今のそのままの訳で問題ないと思います。

ただ、"the lid clatter." は、"the lid clatters." と、「s」が最後に付くと思います。

こちらの方が the lid を繰り返し使うより自然な感じがしますね（直感ですけど）

どう致しまして。私の英語のレベルはどうという事は無いので、特にお気になさる必要は無いと思います。ただ、私ならああいった具合に書くかなと・・・。

それに、今あらためて見て見ますと、

There is a gap between them and it makes clatter noise.

のように、"and" と "makes" の間に "it" が必要な感じですね。私もしょうもないケアレスミスを度々おかします。邦訳にせよ英訳にせよ、完了ボタンをクリックした後で「しまった」と思い、コメント欄に訂正文を載せる事しばしばです。
