English
Words like mama, papa, and dada are very easy to pronounce - they consist of very simple sounds arranged into very simple syllables - and they are a natural by-product of children's spontaneous expressions. In fact, "mama"-like sounds have been found in children's speech starting from as early as two weeks of age up to around five months, usually when they want something ( such as wanting to be picked up or wanting food).
Japanese
「ママ」「パパ」「ダダ」という言葉は発音しやすく(とても簡単な音で簡単な音節である)、子供が無意識に表現する言葉から自然にできた言葉である。実は、「 ママ」というような音は、最も早くて生後2ヶ月ぐらいから5ヶ月ぐらいの間に発し始める「言葉」の中にも見いだされる。それは、だいたいの場合、子供が何か欲しい時(だっこして欲しいとか何か食べたい時など)である。
