民主主義とは公平さや平等を詠う前に、常に確認を怠った時から民意を最も失うと言う危険性をはらんでいる。私はこれを主権在民の定義と思っている。

　英国首相だったチャーチルの名言に「民主主義は最悪の政治であるが今まで存在したいかなる政治制度よりマシである」というのがある。そう考えると、民主主義の中で生きるには常に注意を喚起する必要がある。
