Sina Weibo Launches Location Platform ‘Weibo Places’

In a move that, in retrospect, we’re surprised didn’t happen way sooner, Sina Weibo launched a new location service today. It’s called Weibo Places and it collects anything you’ve posted to Weibo with a Geotag, arranging your posts into a neat timeline with maps of each location. It also allows you to check in at specific locations, or search for new places to visit (which you can then mark as ‘want to visit’).

振り返ってみると、もっと早い段階で開始されていなかったことに我々は驚きを覚えているのだが、Sina Weiboは、新しいロケーションサービスを本日開始した。Weibo Placesと呼ばれるもので、Weiboに投稿したGeotag付きのものを全て拾い上げ、自分の投稿を、各位置を示した地図付きで、綺麗にタイムラインとして整理してくれるというもの。また、特定の位置でのチェックインが可能で、訪問したい新しい場所を検索する（そして後に「訪問したい場所」とマーク付けする）ことも可能なサービスとなっている。
