2018年、渡米中、 MOCAに行った時に久しぶりに観たアンセルム・キーファー（Anselm Kiefer、1945年3月8日 - ）の作品が鮮烈なイメージで残っています。

キーファーは私が最も敬愛するドイツの現代美術作家で、
現代美術家の中でも作品における思想性を特に重視し、人間の本質や根源的なものについて、考えることを見るものに突きつけていくタイプの芸術家です。

戦後ドイツが封印した負の歴史を主題としたものを皮切りに、様々なテーマを描いた巨大な作品が多いです。

In 2018, when I traveled to the USA, Anselm Kiefer's work that I saw at MOCA for the first time in a while is still vivid in my memory.
Anselm Kiefer is a contemporary artist who I respect the most. He placed much value especially on the thought, which made the viewers think about human's nature and fundamental things.
His major artworks are huge, which are about negative hidden histories of Germany, and also about various themes.
