Moglue offers interactive ebook publishing tools for iOS and Android
Echelon 2010 alumnus Moglue has just launched a few changes to make it easier for anyone to create and publish interactive ebooks on smartphones and tablets.
For those whom are unfamiliar with Moglue, the platform allows anyone to create and publish their own interactive ebooks for iOS and Android. The New York and Seoul based company was founded at a Startup Weekend back in May, 2010, and its ebook publishing platform now consists of two main components: MoglueBuilder and MoglueViewer. MoglueBuilder has received more than 34,000 downloads from 140 countries since launching its beta in September, 2011.

Moglueについてあまり知らない人のために説明すると、同プラットフォームは、誰もがiOS/Android向けにインタラクティブなeブックを作って出版できるというサービスだ。ニューヨークとソウルに拠点をおく同社は、2010年5月に行われたStartup Weekendで発掘された。現在、そのeブック出版プラットフォームは2つの主な要素「MoglueBuilder」と「MoglueViewer」から構成されている。「MoglueBuilder」は2011年9月にベータ版がローンチされて以来、140か国で34,000回以上のダウンロードがされている。
We first wrote about Moglue back in March where they first announced their MoglueBuilder and MoglueViewer feature. Essentially, MoglueBuilder is used to create the app, and MoglueViewer is used to preview it on target devices. The user experience is fairly straightforward: authors can now make ebooks with MoglueBuilder, preview the content on any iOS or Android device in real-time with MoglueViewer, and then place their titles as apps directly in the iTunes App Store or Google Play.
私達が最初にMoglueを紹介したのは、同社が初めて「MoglueBuilder」と「MoglueViewer」の機能を発表した3月のことだった。実質的には、「MoglueBuilder」はアプリをつくるのに利用し、「MoglueViewer」はターゲットのデバイスで閲覧するのに使う。ユーザーエクスペリエンスは比較的簡単だ。作者は「MoglueBuilder」を使ってeブックをつくり、「MoglueViewer」を使ってその内容をリアルタイムでiOSもしくはAndroidデバイスでプレビューし、その後、その作品をアプリとしてiTunes App StoreやGoogle Playに直接掲載することができる。
MoglueBuilder is a desktop platform that can be used by publishers, authors, and artists to build their apps. It utilizes a simple drag-and-drop interface, and there is no programming involved. It is a free, downloadable PC application, for both Windows and Mac. MoglueViewer on the other hand, is available for iOS and Android devices. It can be found as a free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
「MoglueBuilder」はデスクトップ用のプラットフォームで、出版社、作者、アーティストがそれぞれのアプリをつくるのに利用することができる。シンプルなドラッグ＆ドロップのインターフェースを活用していて、プログラミングの必要はない。無料で、ダウンロードできるPC用（Windows／Mac）のアプリケーションだ。一方、「MoglueViewer」が利用できるのはiOSとAndroidデバイスだ。Apple App StoreおよびGoogle Playで無料ダウンロードとして見つけられるだろう。
The company is providing a special offer for one year of unlimited publishing to both iOS and Android platforms, which will be available until December 31, 2012. The latest version of MoglueBuilder comes preloaded with more than one hundred images, which may be freely used to create and publish books. Additionally, SupaSounds has provided more than two hundred sound and music files, which may also be used for free. This fall, the company will be providing a free Halloween image pack download, which users can use to create their own holiday themed interactive ebook.
