彼は著名な凧の研究者です。
先日、彼の凧コレクション計2690点が彼の遺族によって日本の法政大学に寄贈された。
コレクションの数は、凧が1995点、
凧の絵（凧絵・版画・書画・下絵等）532点、
関連用具・道具類（豆本・ミニチュア凧・資料類）163点。
コレクションには、棟方志功と親交の深かった
俵有作(Yusaku Tawara)から継承された作品も含まれます。
棟方の版画の原点は、ふるさと青森の凧絵だと言われており、
彼は「凧の国・日本」という言葉も残しているらしい。
今は夜なので、私は明日にでも
彼のコレクションが一般公開されているのか、その予定はあるかどうかについて
法政大学に問い合わせてみるつもりです。
棟方は凧とつながりが強かったらしい！

The collection consisted of 1995 kites, 532pictures(the pictures used as the kite, woodprints, paintings of pictures and calligraphics, draft pictures) and 163tools related to the kites(miniture books, miniture kites, references). Pieces succeeded from Yusaku Tawara, who was in good friendship with him were included in the collection.
It is said that the origin of Munakata's woodprint works was the pictures of kites of Aomori, his homeland, and he has left the words "Japan, the country of kites."
As it is the nighttime now I am planning to ask the Hosei University tomorrow if the collection is opend to the public or is it going to be.
It seems like Munakata had a strong relationship with the kites!
So I don't think it is strange to think he has been in frindship with Arai in Kagawa.
By the way, how do you catch news on the Japanese kites?
