CHAPTER 5-1
One basic principle for every workplace is honesty. Without honesty, no real communication can occur. No respect can be built. Worst of all, no one ever knows what to believe.
Honesty is very important in praise, and it is even more important in evaluations. Sometimes the truth hurts a little but truth will always give you integrity, it will give your words power, and it will provide a basis for trust in every relationship, including those in the office.

あらゆる職場で基本的原則となるのは誠実さである。誠実さがなければ、本当のコミュニケーションは生まれない。尊重し合うこともなくなる。最も困ることは、何を信じていいのかわからなくなることだ。
誠実さは相手を称えるときに重要となり、相手を評価するときはさらに大切になってくる。真実が人を傷つけてしまうこともあるが、真実は常に一貫性を与え、あなたの言葉に力を与える。そして職場を含むすべての信頼関係の基礎となる。
