In this paper, we explore the challenges involved in crowdsourcing
the task of translation over the web, where remotely
located translators work on providing translations independent
of each other. We then, propose a collaborative workflow
for crowdsourcing translation to address some of these challenges.
In our pipeline model, the translators are working in
phases where output from earlier phases can be enhanced in
the subsequent phases. We also highlight some of the novel
contributions of the pipeline model like assistive translation
and translation synthesis that can leverage monolingual and
bilingual speakers alike.
이 글은 먼저 지역적으로 떨어진 독립된 번역가들의 번역서비스를 가능케하는 웹상에서의 번역업무 클라우드 소싱에 관련한 문제들을 살펴본다.
다음으로는 클라우드소싱 번역에 있어서 이러한 문제점들을 해결하기 위한 협업적 업무흐름을 제안한다.
우리의 파이프라인적 진행모델에 있어서 번역가들은 전단계의 결과물의 질을 향상시키는 후속단계에서부터 일하게 된다.
여기에 더하여 바이링구얼이나 원어민을 이용할 수 있는 보조적 번역이나 번역합성과 같은 파이프라인적 모델에서 가능한 참신한 수단들을 중점적으로 살펴볼 것이다.
We evaluate our approach by eliciting
translations for both a minority-to-majority language-pair
and a minority-to-minority language-pair. We observe that in
both scenarios, our workflow produces better quality translations
in a cost-effective manner, when compared to the traditional
crowdsourcing workflow.
우리는 여기에서 소수언어-소수언어 언어쌍 및 소수언어-다수언어 언어쌍에 대한 번역을 통해 전술된 접근방식에 대해 평가하였다.
평가결과 두 상황 모두에 있어서 본 글에서 제안된 워크플로가 기존의 클라우드소싱에 있어서의 워크플로보다 비용대비효과면에 있어서 보다 나은 번역을 제공하는 것으로 드러났다.
