FACTORS AFFECTING SOCIAL
OUTCOMES OF ADOLESCENT PREGNANCY
Because adolescent mothers often end up in poverty but are
from low-income families to begin with, questions of cause
and consequence began to emerge. Studies have shown that
girls raised in poverty, in single-parent homes, and by
parents with lower levels of education are more likely to
become adolescent mothers. The Kids Count in Michigan
1995 Data Book states that low income is “the single
most important factor” in the increased risk for adolescent
pregnancy (p. 6).Girls who are poor students with low
educational aspirations are more likely to become pregnant
and have children during adolescence.
思春期の妊娠に影響を及ぼしている社会的要因
１０代の母親が低所得家庭出身である場合、思春期の妊娠は
貧困問題に起因していることがあります。
低所得家庭や片親の家庭、そして低学歴の親の元で育った女子
は１０代の母親になる確立がより高いという研究結果が示されています。
ミシガン州キッズカウントの１９９５年の統計書は、１０代の妊娠が
増加している大部分のリスクの要因は低収入であると述べます(６ページ)。
教育に対して熱心ではなく、学力が低い女学生は、思春期に妊娠し
子育てをする事が多くなります。
