3月3日、千代田区・麹町の弘済会館で「スポーツ振興賞」の授賞式が行なわれた。
「スポーツ振興賞」はスポーツツーリズムやスポーツによるまちづくりに貢献した団体・グループ・企業を表彰する制度。平成20年度にスポーツ健康産業団体連合会と日本スポーツツーリズム推進機構が「地域・スポーツ振興賞」として創設し、平成24年度から名称を「スポーツ振興賞」として改称している。
また、授賞式後には受賞者による発表とディスカッションが行なわれ、スポーツを活用した地域を活性化する手法が披露された。

"Sports Promotion Award" recognizes the organizations, groups and companies that contributed to the town development by sports tourism and sports. In 2008, Sports Health Industry Federation and Japan Sports Tourism Promotion Organization found as "Regional Sports Promotion Award" and in 2012, renamed its name as "Sports Promotion Award".
In addition, after the award ceremony, presentations and discussion by the winners is performed, and the methods for activating the region utilizing the sport is unveiled.
