Of all the important pieces of self knowledge, understanding how you learn is the easiest to acquire. When I ask people, "How do you learn?" most of them know the answer. But when I ask, "Do you act on this knowledge?" few answer yes. And yet, acting on this knowledge is the key to perform-ance; or rather, not acting on this knowledge condemns one to non performance.
How do I perform？ and How do I learn? are the first questions to ask.
But they are by no means the only ones.To manage yourself effectively, you also have to ask. Do I work well with people or am I a loner? And if you do work well with people, you then must ask. In what relationship?
自己認識の重要な要素すべてのなかでも、どのように学ぶかを理解するのは最も得やすい。人々に「どのように学びますか」と尋ねるとたいていの人は答えを知っている。しかし「この認識に従って行動しますか？」と尋ねると「はい」という答えはほとんど返ってこない。だが認識に従って行動することは物事を達成する鍵であり、もっと正確に言えば、認識に従って行動しないと人は物事を達成できない運命をたどるのだ。
どのように物事を達成しようか？ そしてどのように学ぼうか。これらは最も重要な問いである。
しかし決して唯一のものではない。あなたを有効に自己管理するためにさらに問いかけねばなければならない。自分は周りの人々と協力してよく努力しているだろうか、それとも一匹狼だろうか？もし前者であれば、その場合問わなければならないことはこのことだ。どのような結びつきで？
