Alibaba YunOS 3.0 Introduces Local Services, Too
Alibaba launched today YunOS 3.0, the latest version of the customized Android system by the company. The major update is the introduction of a “Life Services Center”(not official translation).
The “Center” offers several categories of online and local services, movie tickets, lottery tickets, food & restaurants, music, reading, etc. Users are able to book restaurants or buy movie tickets without leaving it.

Alibabaは今日、カスタマイズされたAndroidシステムの最新バージョンYunOS 3.0をローンチした。大きな更新内容は、“Life Services Center”（公式訳ではない）の導入である。
“Center” は、映画チケット、宝くじ、グルメ＆レストラン、音楽、読書などのオンラインローカルサービスの複数のカテゴリーを提供する。ユーザはレストランの予約や映画のチケットの購入をその場で行う事ができる。
YunOS 3.0 has integrated Quixey, the search service Alibaba invested in last year. If a user searches for a restaurant, the Quixey-powered search service will show results on a map, powered by Alibaba’s mapping company AutoNavi, and other related information from third-party apps, such as Dianping (ratings & reviews).
The Life Services Center is a lot like the Xiaomi Life in Xiaomi’s MIUI system and CooTek TouchPal’s. All of the three want to have users access all types of services developed in-house or from third parties through a controlled “center”.
YunOS3.0をはAlibabaが昨年出資したQuixeyを統合た。ユーザーがレストランを検索（サーチ）すると、QuixeyのサーチサービスがAlibabaのマッピング会社であるAutoNaviの地図上および、Dianping (ratings & reviews).といった第三者のアプリからの関連情報を示す。
Life Services CenterはXiaomi’s MIUI system and CooTek TouchPal’sにおけるXiaomi Life のような存在だ。
これら３者は制御された「center」を通じ、社内及び第三者で開発されたあらゆるタイプのサービスにユーザーをアクセスさせることを目指している。
It is expected Xiaomi will charge third-party services in the Xiaomi Life based on traffic or transactions sooner or later.
Different from Xiaomi who makes Android phones and other devices on its own, Alibaba’s strategy for YunOS is have third-party device makers adopt it. As of this month, more than 30 phone brands have made smartphones pre-loaded with YunOS and a total of more than 10 million units have been shipped, according to the company.
Alibaba has reached partnership with Meizu, a local smartphone brand who accused Xiaomi of stealing its business plan. Some Meizu phones have been loaded with YunOS 3.0. The two companies will announce a strategic partnership tomorrow.
Xiaomiは遅かれ早かれ、運輸あるいは取引を基盤としたサードパーティー・サービスのXiaomi Lifeに料金を課すと予想される。
Androidフォンや他の自社機器を製造するXiaomiと異なり、AlibabaのYunOSに関する戦略は、サードパーティーの機器メーカーにYunOSを採用してもらうものである。Alibabaによれば、今月の時点で30を越す携帯電話ブランドがYunOSを搭載しており、出荷台数は総計で1000万台を上回っている。
Alibabaは、地元のスマートフォン・メーカーで、事業計画を盗んだとしてXiaomiを告発しているMeizuと提携している。一部のMeizuの携帯電話にはYunOS3.0が搭載されている。明日、この両社の戦略提携が発表される予定である。
