シニシズムとは現代社会に対して逃避的、あるいは嘲笑的な態度を取る事である。スロベニアの思想家であるスラヴォイ・ジジェクの著書「イデオロギーの崇高な対象」ではシニシズムを以下の様に表現している「本当はそれが嘘である事を知っている。しかしだからこそ、彼等はそれを信じるふりをやめられない」と。
国民がシニシズムに陥るとは信じがたい。死に沈む民族とは思えないからだ。今この時こそ、明らかにしていこう。国民自体が地域や国家そして、子孫達に出来る事を勇気を持って行使して行くべきである。
In modern society being cynical is to adopt an attitude of escapism, of scorn. In his book The Sublime Object of Ideology, Slovenian thinker Slavoj Žižek, expresses it this way: "In reality they know it is a lie. But for that very reason, they can't stop pretending to believe it."
I find it hard to believe that our people will fall into cynicism. It's not in our nature. Especially in this time, let us be clear about this. We must have courage and do all that we can for our local areas, for our nation, and for our grandchildren.
