RFI is a standard business process whose purpose is to collect written information about the capabilities of various suppliers. Normally it follows a format that can be used for comparative purposes.
An RFI is primarily used to gather information to help make a decision on what steps to take next. RFIs are therefore seldom the final stage and are instead often used in combination with the following: (RFP), (RFT), (RFQ).
In addition to gathering basic information, an RFI is often used as a solicitation sent to a broad base of potential suppliers for the purpose of conditioning suppliers' minds, developing strategy, building a database, and preparing for an RFP, RFT, or RFQ.
RFIとは、供給業者の許容量の情報を書面で集めた物を目的とする、基本的な事業経過です。通常、比較を目的として使われるフォーマットを形式に使われます。
RFI は主に、次のステップへ進む決断をする上での情報集めに使用されます。RFIはそれゆえ、最後の段階で使用するか、または(RFP), (RFT), (RFQ)と共に、しばしば使用されます。
基本的な情報の収集に加え、RFIは、多くの場合、幅広い供給者候補へ送られる提案書として、業者の意識を調整し、戦略を立て、データベースの構築、そして RFP, RFT, RFQのための準備に使われます。
The RFI procedure is used in the construction industry in cases where it is necessary to confirm the interpretation of a detail, specification or note on the construction drawings or to secure a documented directive or clarification from the architect or client that is needed to continue work.
An RFI raised by the general contractor that has been answered by the client or architect and distributed to all stakeholders is generally accepted as a change to the scope of work unless further approval is required for costs associated with the change.
RFI手順が、建設産業では、建設図面上の詳細、仕様、もしくはメモの解釈を確かめたり、仕事を続けるために必要となる、建築家もしくはクライアントからの文書化した指示や説明を確保したりすることが必要な場合に用いられます。
クライアントや建築家が回答しすべての投資家に配布された、ゼネコンによって取り上げられるRFIは、その変更に関連したコストの追加承認が必要でない限り、一般的に仕事の範囲の変更として認められます。
It is common and accepted practice for a subcontractor or supplier to use an RFI to state his/her concern related to the omission or misapplication of a product, and seek further clarification of the building owner's intended use or the building official acceptance of the specified product. It is also acceptable for the subcontractor to use an RFI to call attention to an inferior product that may not meet the building owner's needs, and use his/her expertise to recommend the better/correct product.
下請けまたは供給元が、RFIを使って、製品の省略または誤用に関するその懸念を述べたり、ビルディングのオーナーの使用意図もしくは指定された製品のビルディングの公式受け入れを求めたりすることは、一般的かつ当たり前の習慣です。また、下請け側が、RFIを使って、ビルディングのオーナーのニーズを満たさない可能性がある劣った製品に注意をうながしたり、その専門知識を使って、より良い製品を推薦したりすることも許容できます。
