We're a pair consisting of an Australian and Japanese couple. We're currently available to deliver natural translations using our combined native languages, English and Japanese.

I can help you with Portuguese to English translation, copy editing, proofreading, and creative adaptation. I'm a British translator, writer, and editor based in Brazil. I work with literary and academic texts, creative adaptation for advertising, subtitles, graphic novels, and many other kinds of text. My translations of poems, short stories, essays and articles by Brazilian contemporary writers have appeared in journals such as Two lines: World Writing in Translation (Center for the Art of Translation); The Critical Flame; Flaneur Magazine; Asymptote Journal; Mānoa: A Pacific Journal of International Writing (University of Hawai Press - forthcoming special Brazil issue); Cadernos de literatura em tradução; and Machado de Assis Magazine. My own writing has been published in O GLOBO, Revista Pessoa, Revista Modo de Usar & co, Jornal RelevO and Oblique Magazine, and my first poetry collection "Tipografia oceânica" was published in Brazil by Paralelo13S in 2017 (forthcoming in English in 2018). I co-founded and run Livraria Boto-cor-de-rosa, an independent bookshop, cultural space and small press dedicated to contemporary fiction and poetry in Salvador, Brazil, where I am based. Over the years, I've worked with researchers, advertising agencies, branding companies, museums, artists, and creatives who have sought my skills in translating rhythm, rhyme, metrics and style. look forward to working with you!
