このようなとき必要となるのは，アプリケーション毎のアンドゥや，大がかりなバックアップ／復元のように操作を取り消す機能ではなく，あたかも短期記憶を拡張するかのように，過去の状態を自由に閲覧して思い出させる機能であると筆者らは考えた．そこで本稿では，簡単なマウス操作でデスクトップの任意の領域をくり抜いて，反時計回りのドラッグ操作によって時間を巻き戻し閲覧すツールを提案する．閲覧範囲は自由に変形したり半透明化することもでき，そのときのマウス操作も閲覧することができる．

What's required in such situation is not undo function for each application, or large scale backup/recovery to nullify operations. The authors considered what's needed here is a function to remind the past state by freely browsing, as if expanding the short term memory. Here we hollow out the arbitrary area on the desktop operated easily by mouse, and propose the tool to rewind and browse time by dragging it in counterclockwise operation. Area of browsing can be transformed freely or made translucent, even that mouse operation is browsable.

The authors thought reminds me, browsing the past freely, as would require the ability to cancel the undo each, and a large scale backup / restore the rather, as if to extend the short-term memory functions.
