今年7月30日、明治天皇が死去されて百年を迎える。明治神宮では夜間特別参拝をはじめとした記念行事を行なう。
明治神宮の夜間参拝は大晦日を除いては特別｡今回は、お偲びの気持ちをこめてお参りしていただこうというもので、同時に、東日本大震災における鎮魂と復興の思いもこめ、日本人の心の再建を期すもの。
夜間特別参拝は午後9時30分まで閉門を延長して行なわれる。
南神門前は、序章として竹の光に導かれながら本殿に向かい、南神門や本殿周辺は高貴な淡紫にライトアップされる。

At 30/Jul, its been 100 years since Meiji emperor past away.Meiji Jingu will hold memorial events including special worship at night.
Meiji jingu's worship at night is special occasion. This time, the aim is to rebuild the heart of Japanese citizens and at the same time to pay respects to the victims of East Japan earthquake.
Night time worship will be available until 09:30pm with extending opening hours.
Opening will be start in front of south Mikado followed lead by bamboo light going to the main shrine.There will be purple lighting around south Mikado and main shrine.

The evening pray is a special events except for the time of new year eve. The evening pray held this time is to have visitors pray with thinking of the past as well as repose of souls of victims from the Tohoku earthquake and the revival from it, which expect the rebuilding of Japanese spirits.
This special evening pray will extend their regular open hour and will be available until 9:30p.m.
Before the south shrine gate, you will have bamboo lighting as prologue, which takes you to the main shrine, and the south shrine gate and the main shrine area will welcome you with noble light purple colored light up.
