友人と買い物に行った時、沢山買い物をして自分のバッグには入らなくなってしまったので、バッグを買おうとしたら「バッグを貸してあげるよ。次あったときに返して。」と友人が言ってくれたので、借りました。
帰宅してバッグを見たら持ち手に大きなヒビが入っているではありませんか！ぶつけた覚えはありません。電話で友人にはなしたら、貸した時点では何も問題なかったと言われました。
バッグの値段を調べたら10万円前後でした！見た目は結構使い込んであって古い感じのバッグです。弁償する必要ありますか？

I borrowed a bag from my friend since I couldn't put all the shopped stuff in my bag and she said I could use her bag when I tried to buy a new bag during shopping with her.
When I looked at the borrowed bag at home after coming back from shopping, I found a big crack on the handle! I don't remember that it's hit by anything. On the phone my friend said nothing was wrong with the bag at that time when she handed it to me.
I found out the price of the bag was about 100,000 yen! It looks like it was well used and looks old. Am I responsible to the damage?

When I went out shopping with a friend of mine, I didn't have any rooms left in my shopping bag because I shopped a lot. Then she let me borrow her own bag instead, saying "Here you are. You can have this today. Give me back next time we meet."
