Hi Can I just confirm the translation. Is "живу отдельно" indicate living separately or living alone?

This is not clear as there is no context. Normally a person would say separately from whom do they live.

Thank you. This is an answer option from a question asking marital status. After this question, the person, who takes the survey, will be asked if they live with any child(ren). Single not living with partner or parents can still be living with child. But I want to know if you say "живу отдельно" indicate living totally alone.
