Drugs and sexual freedom was popular even in the old America. As a result, broken families, broken lives. Divorce rates increased, AIDS and other venereal diseases spread, and moral sense decreased. Not saying pleasure is bad. Pleasure is a good thing. God wants us to enjoy this life. The problem with sexual desire is we will never be satisfied. It is because we will always want more. And, when we lose to those sexual desires, we tend to do something horrible in order to satisfy those sexual desires.

As the result - broken families and lives. Divorcement rate was increasing as well as the rate of people who got AIDS and other venereal disease. Along with it the moral sense of people was going down.
I'm not saying pleasure is a bad thing. Gods wanted us to enjoy the pleasant sides of our's lifes. The problem is that we are always short of pleasures. We always want more. And ones we lose to our desires to satisfy them we do a really horrible things.
