私は日本にいるのでそれは現実的に不可能です。５００ドルとは言いませんので３００ドルでも結構ですのでご返金いただくことは不可能ですか？日本では、実際はもっと点検料はかかるんです。いかがですか？

That is not possible because I am in Japan. I won't ask for $500, but at least can I get a refund of at least $300? If it were in Japan, the service fee(*) would cost more. Please write me back and tell me how you think.

It is impossible for me to do that, because I am in Japan. I'm not saying 500, I am OK with $300. Can't you return $300, can you? In Japan actually, it cost more for getting clearance. How about this?

it costs more です。sを付け加えて下さい。
点検が何の点検なのかわからなかったのでclearanceと訳しましたが、the serviceとしても良いでしょう。
