Codemi brings online learning to Indonesia
Online learning has grown exponentially over the past few years, with western organizations like Codeacademy and Lynda.com ranking among some of the better known providers of skill-development classes.
Codemi, or Collaboration Academy Indonesia, is a website that aims to bring online education to Indonesians through video, audio and presentations. It started when the three co-founders were irked by obstacles and barriers to attending seminars that were scattered across continents, and wanted an easier way to acquire new skill sets.
過去数年でオンライン学習は爆発的な成長を遂げた。中でもCodeacademyやLynda.comといった欧米の団体が著名なスキル開発クラスの提供者として知られている。
Codemi、もしくはCollaboration Academy Indonesiaは、動画、オーディオ、およびプレゼンテーションを通じてオンライン教育をインドネシア人に提供することを目的としたウェブサイトである。これは3人の共同創業者が、違う大陸の様々な場所で開催されるセミナーに出席するのに伴う障害や困難にうんざりした経験から、新しいスキルを身につけるためのより簡単な方法を望んだことが始まりだった。
ここ数年、スキル養成講座で知られるCodeacademyやLynda.comのような欧米企業をはじめとし、オンライン学習の成長がめざましい。
CodemiもしくはCollaboration Academy Indonesiaはインドネシア人にビデオ、オーディオ、およびプレゼンを通じてオンライン学習を提供することを目的としたサイトである。3人の共同創設者たちはセミナーが各地に散らばって行われているために出席できないという障害や壁にいら立ちを覚え、新しくスキルを習得できる簡単な方法がないか探していた。
Codemi currently offers a just a few business related courses. The team hopes to keep its focus narrow for the time being, stating that it will venture into other subject categories in the second quarter of 2014. At the moment the service is available for free and according to CEO and co-founder Zaki Falimbany, monetization is not the team’s current priority. They are, however, looking for investors.
This concept is not new in Indonesia, similar sites exist such as Medidu and Wikasa but Codemi hopes to set itself apart from the competition through exclusive content and partnerships.
このコンセプトはインドネシアで新しいわけではない。MediduやWikasaといった類似のサイトも存在するが、Codemiは独占コンテンツや提携を通じてライバルとの差別化を図りたいと考えている。
現在、このサービスは無料だが、CEOと共同創設者のZaki Falimbany氏によると、有料化することがこのチームの一番の目的ではないということだが、彼らは投資家を探している。
このコンセプトはインドネシアで今に始まったものではなく、MediduやWikasa などのサイトがすでに始めていた。Codemiでは独自のコンテンツと提携先によりこうした競争から離れて存在したいと考えている。
