ヤンデレとは、人間の性格・状態を表す「病んでいる」＋「デレ」を意味する単語である。萌え属性の一つ。狭義には、誰か（殆どの場合主人公）に対して好意を抱いている（デレ）が、その強すぎる好意が直接的または間接的な原因となって精神を蝕み、精神的に病ん（ヤン）でしまう状態の進行、或いはなってしまった状態を指す。2005年前後にインターネット上で既に存在した「ツンデレ」の派生語として誕生した。

The Yandere is a word which means representing the "diseased" + "delle" character and status of the human. It is one of the Moe attributes. In a narrow sense, it refers to the state wherein someone (delle) is holding on to a favor (in most cases of the hero), but undermining the spirit caused directly or indirectly by the strong favor, and the progress of being sick (yan) mentally or becoming to that state. It was already present on the Internet in 2005 before as "tsundere".
