ヤンデレとは、人間の性格・状態を表す「病んでいる」＋「デレ」を意味する単語である。萌え属性の一つ。狭義には、誰か（殆どの場合主人公）に対して好意を抱いている（デレ）が、その強すぎる好意が直接的または間接的な原因となって精神を蝕み、精神的に病ん（ヤン）でしまう状態の進行、或いはなってしまった状態を指す。2005年前後にインターネット上で既に存在した「ツンデレ」の派生語として誕生した。

Yandere is a word meaning a personality/state , made from "yanderu" (to be sick) and "dere" (being in love). One of moe personality types. In a narrow sense, it's a person in love with someone (usually the main character), but this excessive affection becomes the cause of mental deterioration. The word is a derivative of "tsundere", which has already existed in the net around 2005.
