“Let me tell you the truth about why many of us don’t use condoms,” says Sheila, who has worked for six years as a prostitute in one of the poorest neighbourhoods of Nairobi.
“We don’t have money, so when we meet with a client who offers us more than usual, we have sex with him even if we don’t know whether he’s HIV-positive or not,” she explains.
