3. Nebulous Notes

Another powerful text editing tool is Nebulous Notes. I first discovered the power of what Nebulous could do be watching what Federico Viticci has done with it. Among my favorite features is the app’s ability to create a custom macros, which can be added as new keys on your software keyboard. Want a single button that will type you name? Can do. But there are functions far better than that of course, such as undo and redo, find text, and select text assist functions. Naturally, I use the macros functions to assist with Markdown input, but really you can use it however you wish.

3. Nebulous Notes

Nebulous Notesも高性能の文書作成ツールだ。Nebulousを使ってできることを初めて知ったのは、Federico Viticci氏がこのツールを使ってやったものを見たときだった。特に筆者のお気に入りの機能は、カスタムマクロを作ってソフト上のキーボードに新しいキーとして加えられるというものだ。自分の名前を一発で入力できるボタンがほしい？　それができるのだ。しかしもちろんこれよりもずっと優れた機能もある。取り消しとやり直し、テキスト検索、テキスト選択アシスト機能などだ。筆者はマクロ機能をMarkdownのインプットに役立てているが、もちろん好きなように利用することができる。

筆者による以下の安っぽいデモ映像で、全体を見てみてほしい。

The beauty if Byword for Mac lies in its Markdown syntax highlighting, which darkens elements like your headings or bold text, and lightens/hides things like URLs in Markdown links (see below). And while that syntax highlighting doesn’t display on an iPhone or iPod Touch, Byword is still an essential mobile tool for me, since I use the Mac version so frequently. If you haven’t written on Byword in full screen yet, you simply haven’t lived. Ok perhaps I’m exaggerating a little, but it’s pretty damn nice.

Mac用Bywordの便利な点はMarkdown構文強調表示にある。これは見出しや太字テキストなどを暗くして、Markdownリンク内のURLなどを明るくしたり隠したりする機能だ（下を参照）。この構文強調表示はiPhoneやiPod Touchでは表示されないが、それでもBywordはMac版をごく頻繁に使う筆者にとって、とても重要な携帯用ツールだ。まだフルスクリーンでBywordを使って文書を作成していない人は、生きていないも同然だ。これはちょっと言いすぎたけれど、本当に良いツールなのだ。

I think this is a must if you use WordPress, but there’s a made-in-Japan alternative called PressSync Pro that does much the same thing. It’s also a quality app, in my view.

[1] You can also use it for things as simple as canned email templates, which is especially helpful on mobile. I even use it for live blogging events to automatically insert linked time stamps. Note that Text Expander Touch 2.0’s fill in feature is not yet supported by all text editors. But Drafts supports it, which is a good reason to get it.

WordPressを使っている人にとって、これはなくてはならないものだと思う。しかし日本のPressSync Proというアプリでも同じようなことができる。こちらも、筆者の意見では良いアプリだと思う。

DeNA Starts Integrating Casino Games Into its Chat App Comm

All the buzz has died down about Comm, the chat app DeNA (TYO:2432) started rolling out in October last year. According to the last official word a few months ago from the Mobage operator, the app racked up a total of five million users.

That number is surely higher now. Comm has been advertised on TV in Japan. But I doubt there is a lot of faith left inside DeNA to turn comm into a real competitor for Line or KakaoTalk.

The company, however, isn’t giving up.

Sea of Sorrows, written by Ree Soesbee, will be the third and final novel to bridge the time between the original game series and Guild Wars 2. Apple's iPhone 5S Revealed in New Photos

MacRumors has received several images that appear to show both the interior and rear shell of Apple's upcoming iPhone 5S. The device appears to carry the same redesigned logic board that appeared earlier this week, suggesting that this is indeed a new iPhone.

- Based on the observable features, the logic board appears to be an exact match to the one that appeared in photos earlier this week, with a slightly narrower profile and a new layout for connectors and other components.

The Type 99 monopods are not an item that I normally carry. I can order them for you, if you want. It would have to be a special order. I have to order 10 or more and cost will be $49 each to you (including your discount). I have had numerous problems with this item, not with the product, but with the buyers. Most buyers don't understand that you need the barrel band with the mounting lug to install this item. They don't read the description, which explains this, before making the purchase. When they realize they don't have the mounting lug on their rifle, they want to return the item. Additionally, some will have difficulty aligning the pin and screw in the lug.

The mounting lugs made in Japan during the war were all hand fitted with the monpods, so often times some minor filing or re-boring of the pin and screw holes is required to fit the monopod to the mounting lug. As can be seen in the diagrams included below, the handset is expected to resemble the iPhone 5, with the same 4-inch screen, home button, and FaceTime camera on the front of the device.

Aside from those design tweaks, the "iPhone Lite" is shown to have the same general design as previous iPhone models. On the bottom is space for the headphone jack, microphone input, Lightning connector, and speaker output. Up top is a lock button, while volume controls would be on the left side.

The back of the "iPhone Lite" is also shown to have an iSight camera, rear-facing microphone, and LED flash. The low-end iPhone is shown having a singular LED flash, while the "iPhone 5S" features a pill-shaped design that earlier rumors have claimed will house a dual LED flash for greater brightness.

An Elway song likened to a '90s R&B cat-fight duet? Well, that's a first. When describing the song "Prophetstown" for AP, vocalist and songwriter Tim Browne said, "It’s like a schizophrenic version of 'The Boy Is Mine' by Monica and Brandy." Uhm. "No wait… It’s my spiteful, gloomy extrapolation of Shakespeare’s 'My tongue and soul in this be hypocrites.'"

That's more like it. Nonetheless, we can see some similarities in that the song features a guest vocalist. The Brandy to Elway's Monica in the song is Leo Vergnetti from Captain, We're Sinking, who lends his pipes to the chorus.
