Michał (mikethenun)

Student of Japanese Studies, freelance translator.
I work in 3 languages: Polish (native language), English and Japanese.

I have experience in translation of general website content, mobile apps, for business (mail etc.), tourism, travel and advertising.
I was born in Poland where I lived most of my life. In my teenage years I used to travel to United States to visit my family, which had a great impact on development of my English skills later on.

At the university I went for a major in Japanese Studies in Poznań, Poland. I studied there for two years at first, but after being affected by the university life's monotony, I decided to go on a gap year, which I spent doing an internship in a ski resort in Hokkaido, Japan. It was a rather unusual experience of the country and its countryside, as the resort is located in an area with (almost) no inhabitants, but in exchange it is filled with abundant nature and wonderful winter sports opportunities.

The opportunity to work at the ski resort was a truly great experience. I have worked on various positions, but most of the time I worked at the hotel's numerous receptions and its marketing department, interacting with clients, picking up phone calls, translating materials provided by the marketing department and other offices.
Currently I will be continuing my studies, starting my master's degree which I will partly follow at Gent University in Belgium.

日本学科の学生（修士課程）、フリーランスの翻訳者。
対応は３か国語で可能：ポーランド語、英語、日本語。
ウエブサイト、スマートフォンアプリ、旅行・観光、ビジネス、広告等関係のある翻訳経験があります。

ポーランドの南地方に生まれ、ほとんどはポーランドに住んでいました。中学生と高校生の頃はアメリカに家族を訪ねに旅行し、その経験は私の英語能力に良い影響を及ぼしました。
大学生の頃は日本学科を専攻にし、２年間勉強した後、一年間休学し日本の北海道にインターンシップをしに行きました。そこに働いていたスキーリゾートは町や民家等からずいぶん離れたところにあり、自然とウインタースポーツの経験に豊富のところなので、そこのインターンシップは普通の外国人の日本の経験と結構違う経験だったと思います。
スキーリゾートではフロントとマーケティング部に所属し、電話に出たり、お客様の対応したり、マーケティング部などのための翻訳したりしました。
今現在、日本学科の修士課程に進み、ゲント大学での留学生として勉強を続いています。

Jestem studentem czwartego roku japonistyki, a w między czasie param się tłumaczeniami.
Obecnie studiuję, w ramach wymiany, na Gent University w Belgii.
Pracuję w trzech językach: polskim, angielskim i japońskim. Posiadam doświadczenie w zakresie tłumaczeń związanych z turystyką, reklamą, aplikacjami mobilnymi oraz również doświadczenie w tłumaczeniu stron internetowych.
