When I went to supermarket I bought drinking yogurt instead of milk because I misread the packaging.

Not a big problem with me

I can understand and speak Japanese, so living in Japan has gotten easier because I can use the language. Most of friends however can't speak Japanese, and they have problems usually with getting a cellphone plan that fits their needs. They end up paying for services they do not want just because they cannot understand.

Information from banks and cell phone companies is poor and hard to understand. My government office has English staff on certain days and they are very helpful.

Sometimes it is difficult to connect to WiFi as the information isn't clear with regard to where the hot spots are.

I received health insurance through a new job, but didn't know how to cancel my public heath insurance. I received bills and late payment warnings, so I ended up paying double for three years.

Sometimes when I take local train on the way to or from Narita there is no screen with stations, only voice announcements, so I to listen carefully, to know when to get off. And ride from Narita is around an hour.

Problem

Can read & understand Japanese so no issues.

Sometimes they don't want to entertain foreigners

Immigration help - the staff who process visa applications do not speak English
