よく考えるとグループを作成する際、自分のユーザー名を入力したいと思いませんか？
例えばabcというユーザーがグループを作成する際ユーザー名の入力欄にはabcにするのが普通ではないでしょうか？
おそらくURLにユーザー名を使っているのでグループを作成する際に同じユーザー名を入力できない仕様でしょうが。
ユーザー名を変更するとURLが代わってしまうのもSEO的に良くないですね
URLは自動で連番になる方が良いと思います

I guess that you didn't implement this function because the user name is a part of URL and it is straightforward not to use the same user name when creating the group.
However, in terms of SEO, it is not good that URL depends on the username.
I think it is better to use serial numbers for URL.
