日本政府において、銀行法を含む金融制度に関する主管官庁は金融庁です。私は、金融庁の幹部である山田さんとは大学時代からの古い友人で、これまでも様々な意見交換をしてきました。先日、私が彼と会食した時に、銀行法の改正が話題になり、改正の目的等について話を聞きました。

I am reporting about the amendment of Banking Act.

Did Jim receiver any new information about this problem?
With Japanese government, the competent authority related to financial system including Banking Act is Financial Services Agency. I am a collage old friend with Mr. Tanaka who is an executive of Financial Services Agency and we have exchanged many opinions in the past. Just the other day, I had a dinner with him and we talked about Banking Act and the purpose of the amendment.
