詩織は母の日記に残された昭和63年、高１当時の思い出を読み返し、7月18日にガス事故で母の同級生たちが亡くなったことを知った。今日が命日だったのだ。母親の母校である「北山田高校」は、今は廃校となっており近日中に取り壊されることになっていた。詩織は母の代わりに廃校となった高校を訪ねる事を決意する。

Shiori has read Mother's diary and learned that in the year of 1988 when Mother was in the first year of senior high school, a gas accident happened on July 18th and killed Mother's classmates. Today is the anniversary of death. Mother's high school "Kitayamada High School" is now closed and will soon be demolished. Shiori has thus decided to visit the closed high school on behalf of Mother.
