Yet despite his enormous wealth and achievements, Gates showed no signs of slowing down, while at Microsoft, or now at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He said when he was at Microsoft full-time, that he was driven by a 'latent fear' that he might miss the next big thing. He had no intention of repeating the mistakes of other once dominant computer companies such as IBM.
