過激で威嚇的な言葉が相手を屈服させることができるように思えますが、そのような言葉は相手の心をさらにかたくなにするだけです。たとえ議論で勝ったとしても負けた人の意見は変わらないでしょう。
人と接し、社会で生きてきて感じるのは自分の意見ばかりを主張せず謙遜し柔和で丁寧に相手と接すれば、敵対感情を抱いていた者も友だちとして得ることができるようになるということです。

What I feel after I have contacted with people and I have lived in society is that you can make the people who have had antagonistic feelings against you your friends if you get modesty and politely treat them with respect and meekness instead of insisting on your own opinion.
