一番思い出深いのは島の真ん中にある滝へ行った時のことだ。この滝へ行くには山道を４，５時間歩かなくてはたどりつけない。往復１０時間である。道と呼べるような道ではなく、歩く人がいることで踏み固められただけの山道である。途中川も渡らなければいけないのだが、ヒルがいるので、その度に血を吸われる。そうやって苦労してたどり着いた滝は本当に美しく滝の水も最高においしかったことを今でもはっきりと覚えている。滝の水がきれいなので、近くの川で川海老を取り、持ち帰って素揚げして食べたら最高だった。

The most deepest memory is when I have visited the falls in the center of the island. It takes 4 or 5 hours' walk in a mountain path to reach the falls. So it takes 10 hours for a round-trip. The path was not a path we could call so, just a mountain path formed by being stepped on by passengers. I should across the river on the way, and there were leeches in the river so my blood was drunk each time. After such troubles I reached the falls, and the falls was really beautiful and I remember clearly even now that its water was the best taste. Because the water of the falls was fine, I took some river shrimps at nearby river, and then going back to home, I ate them with deep-frying and they were great.
