We have 29 proton therapy facilities and 4 baryon therapy facilities at present as kinds of advanced medical care systems all over the world. We have nine of them in Japan; this number for one country is the largest in the world. Especially concerning the baryon therapy for cancer, it is not too much to say that Japanese therapy is in the top level in the world from the point of the number of treated patients and the treatment results. For these advanced medical treatments such as proton and baryon therapies, medical insurance is not applied and we must pay 100% of the cost. In the U.S. the cost would be some seven to eight million yen, while that in Japan is about three million yen.
