また、新年初めての日の出を見ることは「初日の出」と呼ばれており、日本ではめでたいとされているため、多くの人がそれを見るために各スポットにでかけます。

Also, it is common for some to watch the sun rise the first day of the year, called Hatsuhi no De. It's a celebrated event, and therefore, many families will go out of their way to travel to another location to watch the sun rise.
