さらに標高が高くなると、照葉樹の森から屋久杉の森へ。
二代大杉、三本足杉、三本槍杉、びびんこ杉、奉行杉などが有名。
写真にあるのはくぐり杉。
その名の通り、歩道を歩くと杉のトンネルをくぐることが出来ます。
屋久島の深部へと踏入る

トロッコ道を歩き、いよいよ屋久島の深部へと入って行きます。
トロッコは大正12年に開通し、屋久杉を伐採し里に運んでいましたが、昭和44年に運行を終了しました。

The one in the picture is Hakugurisugi.

As is expressed in the name, we go through tunnel of ceder after walking the walking road.
Then we go into deep part of Yakushima.

We walk on trolley road, and finally go into deep part of Yakushima.
The trolley started its operation in 1923, and had been carrying yaku ceder that was felled to town. But it stopped the operation in 1969.
