テクノポップとは、シンセサイザー、リズムマシンなど電子楽器の音色を意図的に多用し、同じフレーズを反復する、独特の質感を持ったポップスを指す和製英語である。
海外ではエレクトロポップ（エレポップ）、シンセポップと呼ばれる。坂本龍一が「テクノポップ」という言葉を多用し日本でこの単語が定着したという説など、語源には諸説ある。

What is technopop?
Technopop is a wasei-eigo word meaning a pop music genre of unique feel, made with the sound of electronic instruments like a synthesizer or a rhythm machine, manipulated intentionally, characterized by repetetive phrases.
Overseas, it's being called electropop or synthpop. Sakamoto Ryuuichi used this word, introducing it into Japanese vocabulary, although other theories on its origin exist.
