Home is now a landscape leveled; people cloaked in masks and protective garb have been gradually allowed back briefly to gather belongings from splintered homes. But it's the sight of the rotted, mummified corpses of livestock, left behind to die a slow death from starvation, that sickened me most, and that tacitly carries the film's message: the inhabitants who worked the plants have been left behind in the dark, not knowing what's to become of them.
The film is most effective when the camera stands steadily by these refugees, the lens in close on their faces, to capture long-held emotion making its way to the surface.

Casa agora é uma paisagem plana; pessoas cobertas por máscaras e roupas de proteção tem sido gradualmente permitidas a voltar brevemente para recolher seus pertences das casas destruídas. Mas é a visão da podridão, cadáveres mumificados de animais, deixados para trás para morrer uma morte lenta pela fome, que mais me chocaram, e que implicitamente carrega a mensagem do filme: os habitantes que trabalharam nas plantações tem sido deixados para trás no escuro, não se sabe o que aconteceu com eles. O filme é mais efetivo quando a câmera é guiada pelos refugiados, as lentes focadas nos rostos deles, para capturar as emoções contidas vindo à tona.
