日本で開催することが決まっていた「北極科学サミット週間（ASSW）2015」の誘致プレゼンテーションが行なわれ、国内４都市のなかから富山の富山国際会議場で開催することが決定した。

同サミットは国際北極科学委員会により毎年開催され、北極に関する研究協力などが議論される。2015年は同委員会の設立 25 周年に当たり、分科会などのビジネス会合に加えて、北極研究の 10 年計画を議論する会議（ICARPⅢ）や国際北極研究シンポジウム（ISAR-4）などが開催される。

A bidding presentation for "The Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2015", which is to be held in Japan, took place and Toyama International Conference Center was chosen as the venue among the four cities.

The summit takes place annually hosted by International Arctic Science Committee, and research cooperation regarding the arctic is discussed.
2015 fells on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of this committee, there will be 3rd International Conference on Arctic Research Planning (ICARP lll) and 4th International Symposium on the Arctic Research (ISAR-4), as well as business session such as sectional meetings.
