米国の旅行雑誌「コンデ・ナスト・トラベラー」誌の2013年観光都市ランキングで京都がアジア都市部門の第１位に選出された。

今年の「リーダーズ　チョイス　アワーズ」で京都は文化90.0点、親しさ80.6点、雰囲気82.7点、レストラン81.5点、宿泊75.3点、買い物60.4点、平均81.6点を獲得。２位のベトナム・ホイアンに1.7ポイントの大差をつけて1位に輝いた。京都が同賞で1位を獲得したのは2011年に続いて２度目となる。なお東京が77.7点で8位となっている。

Kyoto was selected as the number one city in Asia for the most popular tourist destination 2013 by American Travel Magazine, "Conde Nast Traveler".

With this year's "Reader's Choice Awards", Kyoto received the average rating of 81.6 (Culture: 90, Friendliness: 80.6, Atmosphere: 82.7, Restaurants: 81.5, Lodging: 75.3 and Shopping: 60.4) Kyoto was ranked number one with a great difference of 1.7 from the second-ranked city, Nam Hoi An in Vietnam.
It is second time for Kyoto to win the same award since 2011. Tokyo was ranked 8th with the point of 77.7.
