日本には太古から現在まで、有形無 形問わず多くの素晴らしい文化財があります。近年では、ゲーム、ファッション、アニメや漫画などのポップカルチャーが海外で注目され、まったく新しい「日本」のイメージも形成されています。

しかし若者を中心に日本のイメージがポップカルチャーに偏重してきているという指摘もあり、伝統文化や生活文化、ハイ カルチャーを含めた日本文化の発信を政府も重要課題として取り組もうとしています。

Since ancient times Japan has had wonderful cultural heritage regardless of its form or lack thereof. Lately, pop culture such as video games, fashion, anime, and manga has captured attention overseas, creating a totally new image of Japan.

However, it has been pointed out that Japan’s image has heavily focused on popular youth culture, and the government intends to promote Japanese culture, including high culture such as traditions and lifestyle as an important issue.
