Hijikata Toushirouは、真撰組の副長であり、異常なほどマヨネーズを愛している青年です。

周囲からは「鬼の副長」と呼ばれたり、瞳孔が開いていたり、外見はカッコイイですが怖いです。
ですが近藤を絶対的に信頼する様子や、部下や上司をさりげなくフォローする事もあり、
冷徹な人間ではない、根はやさしい人間であることもうかがえます。

そんな彼は「たばこ」と「マヨネーズ」がキャラクターアイテムです。
StrapやTowelsには、ほぼ描かれているくらい、アニメの中でも執着しています。

Hijikata Toushiro is the vice-captain of the Shinsengumi, and loves mayonnaise to an unnatural extent.

He's called the "demonic vice-captain" by those around him, his pupils sometimes open, and his outward appearance is cool, yet scary.
However, he trusts Kondou absolutely, will casually support both underlings and authorities,
is not a very calm person, but is general is kind.

His character items are "cigarettes" and "mayonnaise."
They are pretty much always depicted on his straps and towels, and he is attached to them even in the anime.
