私が好む映画は主人公の住んでいる土地が美しい。「フィールドオブドリームス」ではアイオワ州の小さな町ダイアーズビルを舞台にしている。主人公は農業をしていて、広大な畑の前に家を持っている。私はそんな家を見ると自分もそんな所に住みたいと思う。人の少ない町に広大な土地を買って、家を建て、家族とひっそり住みたい。あくまでも夢だが、私が北海道の土地に興味を持つのはそれと同じ雰囲気を映画から感じるからかもしれない。私が見た美瑛町は、まるで「フィールドオブドリーム」そのままだった。

I really like films that have a main character who lives in beautiful location. The film 'Field of Dreams' takes the small Iowa town of Dyersville as its setting. The main character works in agriculture, and he has a house which is in front of a large field. When I saw that house, I thought I'd like to live in it too. I'd like to buy a big plot land in that small town, build a house, and live quietly with my family. It's no more than a dream, but I think that the reason that I'm so interested in Hokkaido is because of the atmosphere that I got from that movie. The town that I saw there, called Biei, is one such 'Field of Dreams'.
