Old Japanese swords were usually made into short swards cutting their apexes, so it may have been an excellent sword used by a samurai or ninja.

On edging its apex, you can know the original clear bite of a Japanese sword.
As this sword have scars due to whet or rust on its surface and crack on its apex, I hope those who well know Japanese sword bid for it. I will take no claim after selling it.
