本日人事とキャリアに関する面談がありました。

今後希望の部署はあるのか、と。
んでもって、話題にでたのが、私のTOEICの点数。

「英語使う部署もあるので、異動したい？」と言ってくれました。

もちろん、「Yes!」と日本語で即答しました。
「会社負担で英語の勉強している人もいるよ」と言ってました。
私は通信教育だけなのに！！！

生まれて初めて、仕事のことで英語に触れられました。
まだTOEICの点数ぐらいしか英語に関しては得ていないのに・・・

ま、これから勉強しなさい的なことだろうけど。

Today I had an interview with Human Resources.
They asked me if I had some department in mind.
And they brought up my TOEIC score.
"Would you be interested in moving to a department when you can use English?" they asked me.
Of course, I said yes (in Japanese) right away.
"There are some people who are studying English at the company's expense," they said.
I am only taking a correspondence course!
This was the first time English was mentioned in relation to my job.
As of now, TOEIC is the only indicator of my English skills.
This probably means that I have to keep studying.
